Kete by Netsafe: Safety tools and resources for schools 🔒

Netsafe, in partnership with the Ministry of Education, has just launched Kete, an online hub packed with resources tailored for schools. This new, free-to-use service offers a wealth of materials, including policy guides, tools for schools, and classroom resources. After carefully reviewing these resources, we've identified three sections that we believe will be especially beneficial for our schools.

Generative AI Policies

Generative AI refers to advanced artificial intelligence systems capable of generating new content, ideas, or data based on the inputs they receive. These AI models can produce text, images, code, and more, mimicking human-like creativity and intelligence.

This section features a Generative AI Policy for school-wide application, along with a Classroom Charter designed to facilitate the use of AI as an innovative teaching tool.

The provided user agreements serve as an excellent benchmark for comparing existing protocols within schools. There are separate agreements tailored specifically for Primary and Secondary schools, as well as a Digital Device Sign-Out Agreement for schools that loan devices to students.
