Andrew, our Managing Director, combines strong leadership with extensive experience in service management and a robust history as both a former and current business owner. Specializing in the education sector, he expertly leads the Contrast team, focusing on strategic partnerships and enhancing educational outcomes through innovative IT solutions.

Scott Simpson

Director

Scott has been working with Canterbury Schools for over 10 years in various roles. Starting in technical support then transitioning into sales and relationship management. Scott enjoys keeping up to date with the latest technological developments to help navigate schools through the ever-changing information technology landscape.

Phil Gourley

Phil Gourley

Director of Technology

Phil has been a part of IT in the New Zealand education system for his entire career. Specializing in infrastructure design along with leading and managing teams of education sector focused engineers and technicians. Originally from Dunedin, and a keen Highlanders supporter, Phil and his young family now call Christchurch home.

Steve McGirr

Senior Engineer

With over 20 years’ experience in the global IT industry, Steve brings a wealth of knowledge to the Contrast team. Most recently Steve has been supporting Canterbury’s educational institutions by developing large-scale systems and networks. Steve is a keen supporter of New Zealand sports teams, particularly cricket and rugby.

Laura has spent time overseas working in the education industry including Australia, India, and Europe. She has worked in a variety of schools supporting their IT needs in the South Island has lead a team of technicians who support Canterbury schools.

Jordan Sharplin

Jordan Sharplin

Technology Support Specialist

Jordan began his IT career in 2018 and has spent most of this time working in the New Zealand Education sector. Jordan has a wide array of skills including experience in on premise servers, Azure/Office 365, and G-Suite. In his spare time Jordan likes to be outdoors mounting biking and skiing.

Princes has been working in the IT sector since 2019 and during that time has spent over two years supporting Canterbury schools. She holds numerous vendor certifications including NSE from Fortinet, CompTIA A+, Network+ and is a Microsoft Certified Teams Administrator.

Daniel Evans

Technology Support Specialist

Daniel is a Technical Support Specialist with several years’ experience. Daniel has previously spent time supporting one of Canterbury’s largest High Schools and is experienced in the Google and Chrome ecosystem. In his spare time, he enjoys indoor rock climbing and volunteers with Age Concern.

Jael embarked on his IT journey within the health sector, acquiring knowledge and expertise from one of the most rapidly evolving industries. He dedicated the early stage of his career assisting healthcare professionals and gained valuable experience in troubleshooting Windows, remote access, Office 365 issues. He enjoys participating in group training sessions, bouldering, and running as his hobbies.
